Delete your Spotty account
The primary deletion flow is inside the Spotty mobile app. This page is the public fallback for users who cannot access the app.
Delete In The App
- Open Spotty.
- Go to Profile.
- Open Danger Zone.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion flow.
This permanently deletes your Firebase Auth sign-in access, account data, saved spots, settings, notification preferences, FCM token, and user-linked private data from active backend tables. On the phone, the app then deletes what it kept about your account, such as cached forecasts and map images of your spots. If you signed in with Google, it also removes Spotty's access to your Google account; with Apple, it stops Sign in with Apple for Spotty.
What Is Deleted
- Your Spotty account record and Firebase Auth login.
- Saved private spots, public Discover spots you published, settings, notification preferences, device notification tokens, and synced notification location.
- User-linked private app data that is stored by the Spotty backend.
If You Cannot Access The App
Email support@spotty.murri.me from the email address tied to your Spotty account when possible and request account deletion help.
Support deletion requests are verified before action. Requests are normally handled as quickly as possible and no later than required by applicable law. If you signed in with Apple, remove Spotty from your Apple Account afterwards: on an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Sign in with Apple, Spotty, and Delete.
Backups
Database backups, which may still contain your data, are kept for at least 30 days and are deleted by the first new backup after that. If a backup is ever restored, your account is deleted again: for this, Spotty keeps your account's Firebase identifier and the time of deletion for 60 days.
Moderation Records
A Discover report stays as a moderation record after the reporter's or the spot owner's account is deleted, without their account identifiers. The details a reporter wrote are deleted 90 days after the report was resolved.
After Deletion
Deletion is permanent. If you return to Spotty later, you will need to create a new account.
